1. General Update Installation

                  !!!! Attention !!!!!

When the already installed driver is 3.80 or earlier:

- de-install old driver (audio devices/remove)
- in case the systray shows a Nuendo symbol: exit it with a right mouse click
- delete file digiconf.exe in directory WinNT
- delete file digi9652.exe in directory WinNT\system32

Install new driver as described under 2. and 3.

------------------------------------------

2. Installation under NT 4.0

As automatic hardware recognition has not been implemented in Windows NT 4.0 the driver has to be installed by hand.

After the hardware has been installed correctly and Windows NT has been booted, register the new device by starting >Control Panel /Multimedia /Devices /Audio Devices /Add<. Change the directory to where the driver files are located. Windows NT will now install the driver. The RME Settings dialog will open automatically.

A click on OK finishes the installation. After a reboot the DIGI symbol will show up in the systray of the taskbar. The DIGITray tool will be loaded automatically each time when booting NT.

A left mouse click on the DIGI symbol starts the 'Settings' dialog. The NT driver supports any combination of up to three RME cards. The driver is installed only once for all cards in the system.

2.1. Driver updates under Windows NT

Same procedure as above, but first exit the Settings dialog in the systray (right mouse click). Later choose 'Remove' instead of 'Add'. Reboot, then install new driver.

3. Driver News

Overview:

Version 3.84 includes numerous improvements:

General
- Settings dialog completely re-written
- New wave device names and numbering
- Performance improved on critical systems

DIGI96 series
- Settings dialog for St24/96
- Volume slider removed for old PRO
- ADAT format extended to Input Internal (AEBx-I operation)
- ASIO: improved multithread compatibility

Nuendo 96/52
- Mono record and playback added
- 20 bit 4 byte mode added for SAW
- AEB button (ADAT1 Int.) added
- 96 kHz operation for MME ADAT added
- ASIO: improved multithread compatibility
- ASIO: support for two cards

Known limitations:

- This driver does not support LFC (Latency Fast Change). Therefore when the latency was changed activate 'Reset devices' once.

- When the Settings dialog is started while in operation (record/playback) some buttons are disabled. This indicates that these settings can't be changed while the driver/card is in use by an application.
